I will simply quote what President George W. Bush said during a BBC interview that is simply...well...astounding.
Read it after the fold.
The following is an excerpt from today's BBC interview of Bush that can be seen at the BBC online.
(this excerpt begins at around the 14:40 mark)
And I firmly believe we are laying the foundation for peace. People have written off the Middle East. 'It's impossible to have changed the conditions there -- let's just ignore it.' Or, 'Let's promote stability.' -- which was part of the foreign policy of the past.
"I chose a different course.
Stability didn't work."
Stability created the conditions that were ripe for these terrorists to emerge and recruit.
I happen to believe free societies promote hope.
And I would hope the people of Europe, for example, understand that freedom has lead to peace -- and ought to be supporting the freedom movements and not shy away from the responsibility of the comfortable to those who long for freedom...
Now, apart from the incomprehensible babble that Bush uttered in the last paragraph above (and the blatant contradictions)-- this excerpt is quite incredible really.
I chose a different course.
Stability didn't work.
In this interview, the president of the United States just admitted that he was not concerned about "Stability" in the Middle-East when attacking Iraq or Afghanistan. In fact, He didn't want "stability" at all!!!
This, in my humble opinion, shows his "intent". The president "intended" to create instability. He is now proudly boasting that the clusterfuck in Iraq and Afghanistan was no surprise at all. He meant for it to be this way.
- 3000+ Americans dead
- 100's of thousands of Iraqis dead
- 10's of thousands maimed for life
- millions taken from their homes
- Complete chaos in the middle-east
- a world less safe
AND HE IS NOW SAYING HE MEANT FOR IT TO BE THIS WAY!!
